Around the time we got engaged, life was a bit
stressful. Between demands from work and
our personal lives, we were not focusing much on our well being. So of course after getting engaged, the first
thing that came to mind was – “Ah, we need to get in shape and look our best
for the big day!” We planned to get
married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, so the thought of being in bathing suits
around all our friends and closest family motivated us even more! We made the commitment and started P90X. It was tough, but we were feeling amazing and
transforming our bodies. When our
wedding day rolled around, we were in the best shape of our lives and ready to
start the next phase of our lives – being healthy and happy.
The decision to get in shape didn’t stop there; we continue to live in a healthy state of mind. That being said, we are by no means perfect. We still enjoy indulgences every now and then, but the majority of the time we are focused on making the right decisions. I feel very strongly that a healthy life is all about moderation – see this post for my views on that topic.

No matter what prompts your decision to get healthy, what’s
most important is that you made the decision and you are going to do something
about it. You don’t have to jump in and
be a fitness fanatic – start small and continue to challenge yourself. You will be amazed at what you can
accomplish. But don’t stop there, once
the wedding has passed; keep up with that healthy lifestyle. It’s about the journey, not the destination!
For those of you getting married (or even just attending a wedding) and want to get into better shape, think about having Team Fitini help you out. We coach for free, and you can do the workouts in the privacy of your own home. All you need to do is make the commitment. It worked for us!
